Beneath Pont Alexandre III, John Galliano staged a nocturnal Paris shaped by the photography of Brassaï. Dressing became a way of constructing a character: posture, undergarments, surface and silhouette worked together rather than appearing as separate finishing touches.

The house’s collection notes describe techniques and material treatments designed to alter the body’s outline and the perception of cloth. Corsetry and transparent layers made the relationship between the dressed figure and its inner structure particularly visible. Footwear developed with Christian Louboutin completed the silhouettes. The film is essential to the encounter: movement and theatrical bearing reveal how these precisely arranged surfaces inhabit a person.
